Creating a junk mail (spam) filtering rule in Outlook Express
- Launch Outlook Express. Click Tools, Message Rules, Mail…

- Check the boxes next to “Where the Subject line contains specific words” and “Move it to the specified folder” as shown below.
- Click the blue “contains specific words” link in the box near the bottom.
- Type [SPAM] as shown below, then click the “Add” button.

- Click the “specified” within the phrase “Move it to the specified folder”. In the next window, click “New Folder” and enter a name such as “Junk Mail” or “Spam” then click “OK”.

- Make sure that the Rule Description reads similar to the example below. “Where the Subject line contains…” and “Move it to the … folder” should both be filled in. At the bottom of the window, give the rule a name and click “OK’. Click “OK” again when the “Message Rules” window appears.

- All e-mail identified as Spam by the RJ2 Mail server will be tagged with [SPAM] in the subject line and this rule will route the e-mail to the folder just created (such as Junk Mail). This folder should be checked occasionally and its contents deleted.
